Materials and Process

Solid oak. Massive boards, about 5 cm thick. We do not apply a texture to the furniture. We begin with the timber.

Reading the board. The grain runs straight, then turns. A knot tightens the fibres around it. One area is dense, another soft. These differences decide how the piece is worked.

The sculpting. Construction first. Then the sculptor takes over. Softer fibres are worked away by hand, harder fibres remain. Ridges appear. Hollows deepen. Grain becomes relief.
The result can recall timber altered by decades of rain. The oak itself is new.

One of one. The surface follows the individual board, so it cannot be reproduced exactly. That is the point.
You don’t add character to the wood. You uncover it.
