Skaists ķeblis.

A saddle-shaped seat in massive solid oak.

The silhouette is deliberately simple. The surface has its own ideas.

We sculpt the board by hand, following its grain and working away the softer fibres to expose the harder structure beneath. The result is a surface that rises and falls beneath the hand — part grain, part relief, part landscape.

The saddle form gives the piece its purpose. The wood gives it its personality.

No two boards respond in quite the same way, and the sculpting follows what each one gives us.
