Kārtīgs ķeblis!

A solid oak bench with the feeling of having already lived outside.

It begins with new timber. We then work into the board by hand, removing selected softer fibres and leaving the harder grain exposed.

Slowly, the surface changes. The wood develops hollows, ridges and a weathered grey character — an echo of what years of rain and water might eventually do.

It is not reclaimed wood.

It is new oak, deliberately worked to reveal the qualities that time would otherwise take years to uncover.

The grain of each board determines the result, so every bench carries its own version of the process.

A simple object.

A stubborn material.

A surface that asks to be touched.
