Carved from solid oak, this bench / stool is shaped according to the grain of the board rather than against it. The softer fibres are worked away by hand, leaving the harder wood standing proud.
What looks like texture from a distance becomes something else up close: ridges, hollows, grain and shadow moving across the surface.
The form is quiet. The wood is not.
Every board behaves differently, so every piece carries its own landscape.
